Stephen and Helen Meintjes
Helen and I were both born and raised in Johannesburg. We met at university and have been married for over 40 years. From early on in our marriage, we answered the call to be servant witnesses for God. We have been very active over the years serving in many different areas of the church. We are truly blessed and honored to head up the Gauteng region of Lay Witness. We pledge our faithfulness to God and to you in order to spread the gospel message in the world. The people in the world around us need to hear about our Saviour, Jesus Christ. We will be ‘salt and light’ to anyone who will listen to our story.
My name is Calven Celliers, and over and above the privilege of being the regional chaplain of Lay Witness Mission, I am also in full time ministry as the Senior Pastor at The New Harvest Christian Fellowship. God has graciously blessed and enriched my life with two wonderful sons, Joshua & Gregory, and a beautiful little girl, Olivia.
“15 …But as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.” (Joshua 24:15)NLT
Gabby and I have been Married for 51 yrs., with 2 Children Clinton who just recently lost his wife Emma to cancer & Tammy Married to Bradley. We are blessed with 3 Grandsons – Kyle (18) and Connor (13) and Dylan (11) 1 x Granddaughter Roxanne (7). I am very fortunate to still be employed as an Office Administrator in the Audio-Visual industry. I enjoy sports of all kinds, Bird watching and Wildlife. I am a Fellowship Leader and Lay Witness Coordinator & Committee Member. I believe through all my years as a Lay Witness and more than 30 missions that the Lay Witness Ministry is more relevant today than it has ever been. We live in times where I believe Lay Witness still offers, through individual testimonies a very powerful way of bringing the Gospel of Jesus to the people. By spending a weekend with people Lay Witnesses can share and show the Gospel to congregations. It is my prayer that Lay Witness will go from strength to strength as it reaches out and shares the Love of Christ. My special Bible verses are Psalm 46:10 “Be still and know that I am God.” And Psalm 91:1-4.
Henry van Niekerk
I was widowed in July 2019 but remain the proud father of a Daughter, Kathleen, and a son, Stephen, who both serve The Lord. I was introduced to Lay Witness many years ago when I was our local church coordinator for a Lay Witness mission weekend that we hosted. After this weekend, Brian encouraged me to join Lay Witness and I regret taking a long time before accepting the invitation. Lay Witness is right up front when it comes to my passions. I have often been privileged to witness the wonderful work of God in people’s lives on these weekends, simply by Christians making themselves available to share their faith and be used in His service.
Hi everyone, I am so thrilled to let you know that I am passionate about children, teens and young adults, I have a passion for God and chasing after the Father’s heart. I am currently studying and am enjoying every minute of it… My role of youth coordinator has been a privilege and a huge growth spurt for me because it has challenged me to grow out of my comfort zone, attend regular meetings and just hear about how the gospel impacts everyone’s lives, my goal is to encounter you and make sure that you see Jesus shining through me… I have been a part of the Lay Witness Team from about the age of 15 and I have never had a dull moment, I am always open to what the Lord does in my life.
